Puck Daddy has this great take on Brett Hull’s job in Dallas:
Hicks: You see, what we’re actually trying to do here is, we’re trying to get a feel for how people spend their day at work … so, if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?
Hull: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door — that way Les Jackson can’t see me — and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.
Hicks: Dah … uh … space out?
Hull: Yeah, I just stare at that picture of me in the crease scoring on Hasek, but it looks like I’m working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I’d say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. The thing is, Tom, it’s not that I’m lazy – it’s that I just don’t care.
Hicks: Don’t… don’t care?
Hull: It’s a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my ass off and Dallas wins a few extra regular season games, I don’t see another dime; so where’s the motivation?

#16 Buffalo Sabres @ #30 Tampa Bay Lightning
Eric – Buffaslugs – Barry Melrose doesn’t think that the Lightning will win another game this season. I tend to agree with him.
Marc – Buffaslugs – Tampa is a complete mess.
Rory – Buffaslugs – Tampa sucks, Buffalo doesn’t. (I use that a lot, don’t I? Shut up, it’s finals week. Talk to me on Friday when my brain works again) *gimmie*
#7 Pittsburgh Penguins @ #14 New Jersey Devils
Eric – Pens – Even if you took all of the best qualities of Scott Clemmensen and Kevin Weekes and combined them into one goalie, they still wouldn’t be as good as Martin Brodeur.
Marc – Pens – It’s tempting to pick the Devils at home, but I don’t think the Pens will lose their 3rd in a row even if Sabourin is playing.
Rory – Pens – I’m going to the Rangers-Devils game in Newark on Friday, and I want ‘em good and dejected so we can add to their misery – so they don’t add to ours.
#2 Boston Bruins @ #11 Washington Capitals
Eric – Crapitals – Manny Fernandez appears to be starting for the Bruins tonight. I don’t like him.
Marc – Crapitals – Can Boston make it 6 in a row? I think no.
Rory – Bruins – I love Ovie, but Boston is 9-1-0 in their last ten, and Washington is 4-6-0. Had to go with Boston.
#4 New York Rangers @ #29 Atlanta Thrashers
Eric – Rangers – See Rory’s pick.
Marc – Rangers – Please.
Rory – Rangers – So help me God, if we get beaten by the Atlanta $^*#ing Thrashers, I’m gonna take a baseball bat to Tom Renney’s babymaker.

Eric – Wings – Two backups enter, ConkBlock gets the win.
Marc – Wings – Calgary got steamrolled by the Habs last night. Kiprusoff is taking the night off tonight. Detroit rolls at the Joe. *gimmie*
Rory – Wings – Their records in their last ten are almost identical, I just like Detroit better.
#25 Ottawa Senators @ #12 Chicago Blackhawks
Eric – Blackhawks – As Marc said before, our high school hockey team used Blackhawks jerseys. Plus, they have funny All Star Game campaign ads. *gimmie*
Marc – Blackhawks – Ottawa has firepower, but none of their forwards like to backcheck. And the Hawks have been awesome at home.
Rory – Blackhawks – Because I just saw the fake campaign ads for Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, and peed in my pants a little. (Ed. Note: That’s gross)
#22 Phoenix Coyotes @ #27 Dallas Stars
Eric – Coyotes – They’re probably my second favorite Western conference team.
Marc – Coyotes – This is today’s daily “Meh” game.
Rory – Stars – Just because I think it’s hilarious that as soon as Avery’s gone, they remember how to win.
#20 St. Louis Blues @ #10 Anaheim Ducks
Eric – Ducks – Just cause I want to finish this and get out of here.
Marc – Ducks – For fantasy hockey reasons (Legace), I’d like to be wrong on this one… I just don’t see it.
Rory – Ducks - I like ducks.
