5-hole.com Pick ‘em – Flipping a coin=better than Marc at Pick ‘em
First off, I would like to point out that I did much better than Marc did on Wednesday January 21, 2008. Why is it necessary to point out that I went 6-3 while he went 2-7 that night? Because I had so much work that day that I flipped a coin to pick the winner of each game. That’s why.
Petr Prucha is a healthy scratch for tonight. I think I figured out why. I only have one question… What was Petr doing in Chicago?

#4 Washington Capitals @ #2 Boston Bruins
Eric – Bruins – The Capitals have a terrible road record (11-12-2) for a team in second place in the Eastern Conference. I guess only losing 4 games at home helps.
Marc – Bruins - The B’s are 0-2 against the Caps this year, but both of those games were in D.C.
Rory – Bruins – Washington is a shitty road team, and Boston should pick up right where they left off.
#14 Carolina Hurricanes @ #8 New York Rangers
Eric – Rangers – It was starting to look like picking against the Rangers helped them win. Then I realized that what I do as a fan in no way contributes to the outcome of the game.
Marc – Canes – Cam Ward has been hot, which won’t help the Rangers goal-scoring woes. (11 goals in the last 5 games — with 4 wins, btw).
Rory – Rangers – Did you really expect me to pick us to lose?
#3 Detroit Red Wings @ #20 Columbus Blue Jackets
Eric – BJ’s – I liked Steve Mason before it was cool.
Marc – BJ’s – Please allow me to jump on the Steve Mason bandwagon.
Rory – Wings – Even without Datsyuk and Lidstrom, the Wings are a force to be reckoned with.

Eric – Devils – I bet Rory says that she hates the Devils somewhere in her reason for her pick
Marc – Sens – It’s time to get familiar with Brian Elliott.
Rory – Devils – I hate the Devils, but Ottawa just sucks.
#7 Montreal Canadiens @ #27 Tampa Bay Lightning
Eric – Bolts - Upset of the night?
Marc – Bolts - Wouldn’t it be funny if Lecavalier beat the Habs?
Rory – Habs – I would really love Montreal to lose their first game after the ASG, but it’s not gonna happen against Tampa.

Eric – Panthers – A panther would totally rip a flying P apart in real life. (I’ll take that bet.)
Marc – Panthers – I bet you a dollar this game goes to a shootout.
Rory – Rory failed to include this game in her email to me. I say that if she doesn’t get back to me before the game starts then she automatically gets a wrong pick.

Eric – Wild – I bet Marc says something about Backstrom in his reason for his pick.

Eric – Stars – The Stars have been playing pretty well lately. Reverse Avery Effect!
Marc – Stars – Wow, I had no idea the Stars were “over .500″ (although technically they’ve lost 25 times and won 20 times) *gimmie*
Rory – Stars – Dallas has been rolling since Avery got run out of town, and I would expect nothing different against a shitty Atlanta team.

Eric – Oilers – This is my “who the hell cares?” game of the night
Marc – Oilers – It is hard for me to express how little I care about this game in one sentence.
Rory – Sabres – I just picked one. I don’t really care about this game, to be honest.
#16 Anaheim Ducks @ #12 Phoenix Coyotes
Eric – Coyotes – The Coyotes are a serious playoff team right now.
Marc – Coyotes – Phoenix is a great team at home. It’s too bad nobody goes to see it.
Rory – Ducks – Wayne’s Ellen Degeneres hair can’t save them.
