Game Preview: Rangers v. St. Louis Blues
The Rangers are on the road to take on the St. Louis Blues. The puck drops at 7pm and can be seen nationally on Versus. Since it’s on Versus, I haven’t bothered to look at what channel it is on Center Ice, since it’s probably blacked out anyway.
Mother of God.

They're pretty much doing it to themselves at this point.
I don’t even know if I can say I’m angry about the game yesterday. I’m almost glad it turned out to be the massacre I thought it would be. Mike Milbury spent the entire broadcast ripping this team to shreds, and they deserved every word.
They allowed half as many goals as the 10-2 game against Dallas, but this was worse. The Dallas game was on the road, on a Friday night, when, let’s be honest, most people aren’t sitting at home watching hockey, it only aired on MSG and Shit-kicker TV or whatever channel it’s on in Dallas, and was against a Western Conference team. If they have more points than we do, who cares?
Yesterday’s game was against a division rival, with whom we are battling for points and a spot in the playoffs, it was at home, and was on NBC, meaning they got embarrassed not only in front of the New York audience, but a national audience, and on a Sunday afternoon, when there’s really not that much on tv and people are more likely to watch hockey just to be entertained.
So yeah, for once in my life, I agreed with Mike Milbury.
Anyone else find it ironic that this atrocity went down on Jagr’s birthday? A team with no clear leadership, a team that’s lacking in scoring, and has no stabilizing presence capable of taking the team on their back and bringing them back to form? Someone used to fit that bill, I can’t think of who it was….
Anyway, these pathetic excuses for professional hockey players are in St. Louis tonight to take on the second worst team in the Western Conference. Think they can pull out a win? Yeah, I also think I’m gonna come home from class and find Jagr in my shower wearing a suit made of money. Come to think of it, he probably owns one. But I digress.
This team losing and imploding on itself doesn’t even surprise me or get me angry anymore. I’m angered-out. All I ask is for five more wins for Henke so he can set the record for being the first goaltender in NHL history to record 4 consecutive 30-win seasons to start their career. Because he deserves to. Yes, he’s been a bit inconsistent lately, but there were more than a handful of games that he kept them in and that he deserved to win, and the rest of the team lost it for him. That’s all I ask. Oh, and Jagr in my shower when I get home tonight.
