HE’S GONE!!!!!
The New York Rangers fired Head Coach Tom Renney and Assistant Coach Perry Pearn this morning.
$*#&ING FINALLY!!!

Pearn has needed to go for ages. The power play has been absolutely abysmal for years, and there was no reason for him to have a job anymore. His goatee wasn’t even that impressive. If it looked more like Eddie Shack’s did last night, I would have been more forgiving. But, at long last, he has been shit-canned. What a glorious start to the week, ladies and gentlemen, what a glorious start.
Now, on to the bigger news. Tom Renney has been fired. The man who has stymied his star players’ abilities with a downright stupid game system for this entire season, enforced ’2-1 hockey’, which translated to most of the team dicking around on the ice and not putting up a goddamn thing on the scoreboard while Lundqvist works his ass off and gets shit on by his own team, the man who couldn’t manage the bench to save his life is gone.
I’ll give him credit where he deserves it, he did a lot to get this team back to respectability after the lockout, and I thank him for that, but he overstayed his welcome, and tried to force a highly talented team into a playing system that was horribly ineffectual and downright stupid, eventually launching the team into the death spiral we see them in at the moment. Thanks for the memories Tom, but you should have walked away quite a while ago.
The short list of men to replace Tom include Assistant GM Jim Schoenfeld and former Tampa Bay coach John Tortorella.
The problem of Sather and his incompetency with basic arithmetic and choice of free agent signings still remains, but we’ll save that for another day. The house has fallen on Wicked Witch Renney, let’s go grab those ruby slippers.

THAT picture made me laugh out-loud …….a ghoulish laugh, full of excitement and a looking ahead. Not that in the short term that our roster will change OR Wade Redden will play good defense, but one of hope. Maybe the new system we’ve been screaming and demanding — one that attempts to score goals will once again create good scoring hockey.
If we continue to lose, maybe we could see ‘good losses’ where we gave it our all.
I think that is the most be could expect if we continue to downturn.
Here we go….no turning back.

Plus, I don’t think anyone that replaces Renney will play Voros over Prucha! I’m excited!
