Just like Lundqvist, we have everything covered in this New York Rangers (and NHL) Blog

Anyone have an extra $2438.80?

A banner on NYRangers.com reads “LAST MINUTE PLAYOFF TICKETS JUST RELEASED!”  Well, don’t get too excited unless you’ve got a lot of extra cash on hand.

I was curious, so I followed the link to Ticketmaster and searched for a pair of tickets.  The result?  A nice set of VIP section 36, row AA tickets.  Price tag:  $1179.50 each plus a $39.90 convenience charge per ticket.

They are indeed very good seats.  I mean, just ask Janet Gretzky.  But don’t you think that seems like a lot of dough to watch one hockey game?  My question is: does this count as a sellout if those seats remain unsold?

Hmm... I think if I sell my car I might be able to go to Game 4!!!

About the author:  Marc is a Long Island native and a hockey goalie. He has been a Rangers fan for as long as he can remember, although, in the interest of full disclosure, there was a time during the 1993 playoffs when he vaguely remembers cheering for Pierre Turgeon and the Islanders after the Dale Hunter cheap shot. His favorite Ranger of all time is Mike Richter.

  1. Seriously? I wouldn’t pay that much to see my favourite band in the whole world on their last tour ever, let alone one single playoff game.
