Paul Mara and Freddie Sjo No Longer in Blue

I'm kind of upset.

And a popsicle isn't going to make me feel better, either.(well, maybe a vodka popsicle...)

Paul Mara has signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens, and Fredrik Sjostrom has signed a two-year deal with the Calgary Flames.

We’ll miss these guys – they were both good team character guys who played their roles and gave every shift 147%.  Also, Sjostrom was an integral part of the PK this season, which was one of the two best things about this team all year.  Color me freaked out.

So, to mourn losing two of my favorite players to the stupidity of Glen Sather, here is a collection of some of my favorite Paul Mara and Freddie Sjostrom moments:

Ok, this wasn’t from his time as a Ranger, but I found it while he WAS a Ranger, so it counts. Shush.

Because I love when they wear shorts for the post-game. Nice knee-socks, man.

Yarrrgghhh!!! (you know….you know….you know….)

And finally, because it makes all of our hearts sing, and it’s beauty makes the angels cry, I give you…..

Good luck in Montreal, Paulie.  And good luck in Calgary, Sjo.  We’ll miss you guys – please be nice when you play the Rangers, I don’t want to stop liking you.
