Something We’re Thankful For…
Now that we’ve told you what the Rangers are thankful for, I thought I would share an experience that I am thankful to have had. Enjoy.
Backstory: I live in New Jersey. I work in Manhattan, and take NJ Transit to and from work. Anyway – the Devils played at home last night, and apparently won. How do I know this? Because I was lucky enough to be on the first train after the game got out. Scoooore.
When we get to Newark, my car fills up with loud, drunk, obnoxious Devils fans(are there any other kind?), who are told after about a minute by the conductor that they need to shut up or he’ll have them removed from the train. They quiet down for like two seconds. He goes and checks everyone else’s tickets who just got on, and comes back and tells them that if they aren’t quiet, he’ll stop the train at the next stop and have them removed.
They quiet down just in time to pull into the next stop, they’re quiet while we’re parked, and quiet for about a minute after leaving the station. THEN start up like nobody’s business. “Let’s go Devils” chants, “Fuck the Rangers” chants, yadda yadda, on and on and on.
Then we hear the conductor over the loud speakers telling the other conductors that cops will be boarding at the next station to remove some passengers. We stop at the next station, and four big black cops storm onto my train car and throw them all off. And then, ARREST THEM.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, not only did I get to come home to a killer shoot-out win, I got to watch 20 or so Devils fans get arrested for being Devils fans. My night was full of win. And I am thankful for that experience, on the eve of Thanksgiving. Hope your turkey was as delicious as mine!
*Note: An epic making-up-for-my-horrible-absence post is coming soon. Soooooon.

Great story! I’m thankful for you sharing this one!
Well I’m thankful the Rangers are 8 points behind the Devils, and that the Devils have an additional 3 games in hand.
Considering it’s only December, that’s pretty terrible.
I’m thankful that I spend more time rooting for my favorite team than I do rooting against other teams. I’d feel pretty hollow if all I ever did was spend my time saying how much other teams suck and went to the University of Rhode Island.
